Digital News: Stories we found on the web An online newspaper is the online version of a newspaper, usually they look very similar to the paper ones and offer the same stories. Many of us receive news from sources other than a newspaper like from blogs, newsletters, periodicals and videos. Craig and I receive updates …
Sometimes you just need a laugh and boy have I needed to laugh for quite a while. We were invited to see the Absolutely Fabulous movie and we certainly got what we were looking for. Clever dialog, crazy circumstances, even situations that made you cringe…in a good way.
I received these shoes for free from Rhea Footwear in exchange for a review on my blog. I selected the shoes myself, and of course, the opinions here are all my own.
Good news friends, I have found shoes that are good for you! What?
Rhea Footwear contacted me to ask if I wanted to check out their footwear with no slip technology. What they didn’t know is that I actually do have a fear of falling. Hello – What a lucky day for me!
Planning a trip to San Francisco? A visit to SFMoMA (San Francisco Museum of Modern Art) is a must. Even if you aren’t planning a trip to SF, plan one, this museum is worth a special trip. Even if you are thinking… modern art? Go anyway – you will be amazed by the quality of the pieces and learn a whole bunch about art if you are willing to give in to it.
This post was written in collaboration with Expedia.com as a part of its #SoCalSummer Series. All opinions, photographs and details are my own.
A Southern California Summer in Pasadena sparkles with bright sunshine, fireworks in July, tall, leafy trees and afternoon breezes – a Saturday farmer’s market, charming vintage architecture and artisan ice cream. The Rose Bowl is very close by and beautiful walks and hikes are within the city and a short drive away.
Have you heard of @Midnight? Most of you are probably saying no, except for those who keep up with what your adult kids are watching.
Actually, not only are our children watching, but “adults” are watching too. @Midnight with Chris Hardwick is an American late night Internet-based combination scripted, rehearsed and improv panel game show hosted by Chris Hardwick, that airs Monday through Thursday nights on Comedy Central. The show won a 2015 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Creative Achievement In Interactive Media – Social TV Experience.
Chris Hardwick is really talented (and cute) and I read that he studied philosophy at UCLA. Go Bruins! I knew he was special. 😉
Summertime in Napa can be very hot, but I really don’t care, I just love the place.
I have written before about what time of year is best to visit Napa, the answer is anytime. Seriously, it is so damn pretty, with gorgeous vineyards, breathtaking views, crazy amazing food, restaurants, chefs and phenomenal wine. What more could I want?
This past Thursday, we finally moved back in to the fixer upper. Ten months later we are attempting “the new normal”.
Sometime last year I wrote a pretty popular Huffington post about the inevitability of change. How life throws us twists and turns and we need to learn to adjust. This is especially apparent when you become an empty nester.
Your life is so vastly different when you no longer have the day-to-day activities, as well as the interruptions of having kids in the house. You are proud of their accomplishments, but now they are living away at college, trying to detach themselves, learning to be independent and more mature.
Furthermore, we as parents are experiencing similar emotions. Trying to learn how to turn the focus BACK on to us and learning to live without our children in tow.
Initially it can be fairly emotional and sad, but ever so slowly we begin to realize that we can still be exceptional parents and have a great deal of fun as well.
One of my very favorite things to do in Seattle is to have lunch at the Space Needle. Truthfully “The Needle” absolutely fascinates me. When we chose to live in downtown Seattle, our apartment was only five blocks away and it towers so high in the air that you can see it from anywhere in the city. I love it in the rain, in the sunshine, through every season, I just can’t get enough.
